REDHAT versus Suse for SAP HANA

This post is also available in: EN

Redhat claims to have the biggest market share of the SAP HANA installations running on its RHEL for SAP. Our task is typically to design, implement and operate the infrastructure for our clients and of course the OS has a major role and impact in every project and its success.

Seeing our major partners turn their back to Suse in the past years has been an important indication for us. We always asked, and wondered if it was some commercial issues, license system problems, change of ownership, support quality or development. We had qualified and less qualified answers in all directions. Finally, the combination of single point of contact through our major partners, better bundle pricing for our clients and support experience convinced us to move at least on the SAP implementation to the Redhat RHEL for HANA. We do believe that both Suse and Redhat have great products and services but at the end of the day the better package for our clients is surely the right direction. We are investing heavily in expansion of our technical resources both in Swiss and Vietnam Offices and look forward for interesting and successful projects.
